Responsibilities

SUMMARY:

The Claims & Compliance Paralegal is responsible for a variety of tasks such as assisting with claims management, company compliance, and vendor onboarding and compliance. This role will also provide general support to the Legal Department. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

 

  • Facilitate Claims Management
    • Work with other departments and third parties to collect information.
    • Investigate disputes and assembles related documentation in anticipation of mediation, arbitration, or litigation.
    • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Facilitate vendor onboarding and compliance
    • Review onboarding requests to ensure that standards are met
    • Review required setup and contract documents
    • Review vendor change requests and provide direction
  • Assist with company compliance
    • Review requests and research compliance requirements
    • Complete applications
    • Perform research on legal and compliance topics and summarize findings as applicable to the company.  
  • Assist other departments with requests for information, letters, and documentation.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, SKILLS, and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate office.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exhibit critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Exhibit exceptional organizational skills.
  • Exhibit the ability to live the KGPCo Values.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the Company.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add and subtract 10-digit numbers, to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Work follows established job aids and business rules.  Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
