Responsibilities

SUMMARY

The Program Manager – Telecom Assembly & Installation is responsible for leading and executing large-scale, multi-phase programs involving the integration and deployment of mechanical and electro-mechanical telecommunications infrastructure. These programs include complex build-outs of racks, cabinets, radios, antennas, alarms, and structured cabling systems. This role requires a strong technical foundation in telecom systems, a deep understanding of field deployment challenges, and the ability to drive cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Operations, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams. The Program Manager ensures that all deliverables meet technical specifications, are executed on schedule, and align with customer and business objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Own end-to-end accountability for the planning, coordination, and execution of complex technical programs involving telecom assembly and installation across multiple teams and workstreams.
  • Serve as the central point of communication between Engineering, QA/QC, Project Managers, and Field Operations, ensuring engineering documentation and production execution are aligned.
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, and build documentation to confirm compliance with customer requirements and engineering standards. Ensure proper application of electrical, RF, grounding, and cabling practices.
  • Coordinate shop floor execution and field installation schedules; support build sequencing and capacity planning to meet aggressive delivery timelines.
  • Work with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure timely material availability, identify shortages, and support BOM accuracy for assemblies with high part count and configuration complexity.
  • Oversee time charging and labor utilization across assigned program teams. Drive efficiency and resource optimization to keep programs within labor budgets.
  • Identify risks early, escalate issues as needed, and ensure programs comply with internal EHS policies and external OSHA regulations.
  • Define KPIs and track program health through dashboards and weekly reporting. Drive continuous improvement using metrics-based feedback and post-mortem reviews.
  • Support upskilling of team members by facilitating technical training programs and promoting cross-training to mitigate resource constraints.
  • Deliver regular program status updates, critical path reviews, and risk reports to senior leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure all builds pass internal QA and meet telecom-grade installation standards, including grounding, labeling, and cable management best practices.

 

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline preferred; PMP or PgMP certification a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years in technical program management, preferably within telecom infrastructure, network deployment, or complex electromechanical systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of wireless or wireline service provider infrastructure deployments and installations
  • Strong working knowledge of telecom rack/cabinet integration, structured cabling (AC/DC, fiber, coax, Ethernet), RF systems, and installation standards.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical build specifications.
  • Familiarity with telecom industry protocols (e.g., NEBS, GR-1089), site readiness assessments, and outage planning.
  • Hands-on understanding of assembly processes, field installation workflows, and change control procedures.
  • Proficient in project/program management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Smartsheet) and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Demonstrated success in managing high-velocity, high-precision technical programs with multiple dependencies and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical complexity into actionable program milestones.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs

Safety Duties/Responsibilities

  • Understand, follow, and enforce KGPCo Safety practices.
  • Quality awareness and ability to implement quality control processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Telecom Industry Outage protocols is desired.
  • Requires demonstrated ability to learn and understand basic electromechanical processes. 
  • Requires ability to learn, read and understand technical drawings, schematics and documentation; must have the ability to learn electrical color codes.
